Emergency crews are still working to manage extensive inundation triggered by the recent storm.
A significant emergency was declared in Monmouth, south-east Wales, where individuals were rescued or evacuated from flooded homes after torrential rain on Friday.
On Sunday morning, multiple major alerts, warning of life-threatening conditions, were still in effect, alongside dozens of alerts in England. River levels on the Monnow surpassed all-time highs, topping levels recorded during previous severe weather events.
Homes, businesses, transport networks, and energy infrastructure all suffered from significant flooding in Welsh regions, authorities confirmed.
Data indicated that around 20 homes and businesses in England were flooded due to the storm, such as properties in Cumbria.
As Storm Claudia moves away, a sharp temperature drop is forecast to sweep across the UK, bringing sub-zero conditions and possible snow and ice.
Saturday night, the country experienced its chilliest evening since spring, with temperatures plunging to minus seven degrees Celsius in a Scottish location.
A decline of around 5C will change unseasonably warm November temperatures to lower figures nationwide, with Sunday's high reaching around 11 degrees in the southeastern region before further cooling at the week's beginning.
"While the storm moves south, high pressure to the north-west will drive a chilly Arctic air across the UK," a meteorologist stated. "This results in much colder conditions than recently, and, while generally drier, there is also a risk of wintry hazards. Frost across many areas are expected, with readings dipping as low as minus seven in some places next week, and daytime highs remaining in single figures."
He added, "Combine this with a brisk northerly wind, and there will be a marked chill factor. This represents a significant shift after a extended period of above-average temperatures."
Health authorities have issued a warning for low temperatures for several English regions from Monday, while environmental agencies have cautioned that flood risks may continue throughout the coming days.
The low-temperature warning is effective from Monday morning until Friday morning, covering the eastern Midlands, West Midlands, North East, northwest, and Yorkshire and The Humber.
