Marnus Labuschagne has been dropped from Australia's three-match ODI series versus India, as in-form Queensland teammate Matt Renshaw getting a unexpected call-up.
The right-hander was left out from the one-day international side following scoring just one run in his two batting efforts during the top-end series against South Africa in August. The right-hander has a top score of forty-seven in his most recent ten ODI innings.
The batsman has featured in 68 ODIs and scored 1,871 runs at an batting average of 34.64, but will now continue to press his claims a return to the Test side ahead of the Ashes starting in Perth on November 21.
Labuschagne has shown signs of a return to form with 160 for Queensland in the domestic first-class competition this week, while Renshaw made a hundred for the Bulls in the identical match against Tasmania.
Renshaw could to make his first white-ball appearance in the upcoming series against India after previously being selected in an ODI squad in 2022.

“The bulk of the T20 squad will remain together as it’s an crucial phase in the build towards the T20 World Cup next year, however we are trying to strike a balance to ensure we simultaneously prepare certain individuals for the Test matches ahead.”
Australia’s three-match ODI series against India commences on October 19 in Perth, before the rivals play five T20s from October 29.
